Brent Dillabaugh has been involved in community and economic development for the last 20 years. Brent works with nonprofit organizations in financial management, program delivery, board development and public policy development.
After working in several communities across the country, he moved to Hawai‘i in 2001 and began working for the Hawai‘i Alliance for Community-Based Economic Development (HACBED). Brent held various positions culminating as the Deputy Director, where he co-managed the organization, coordinated public policy efforts, and assisted in the provision of training and technical assistance services to nonprofit organizations implementing community wealth building initiatives.
In 2008, Brent joined the Honolulu Fire Department and is a full-time firefighter, an experience that directly connects him with the importance of community health, resilience and empowerment. Brent was a founding member of Envision Hawai‘i and previously a board member of Housing Hawai‘i and Kanu Hawai‘i.
He received a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University and a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University.
